+++ Calories from Ipoh~Taiping to Penang

1st come question~ bird nest??? NO! It's kinda Chinese dishes which you can simply have it at some of the "大炒"(dai chao) stall. I have had a chance of tasting this after getting know from other customer's order....The noodle has been fried before and it is served with the center paste which consists of vege, meat.... Location: Ipoh Garden East, I hv 4gotten the name of the restaurant but it is a restaurant with a number of hawker stalls inside, is a corner restaurant, facing the residential housing area, near to the place where we pay for land tax in Ipoh and near Ipoh Pantai Specialist Hosp.

Taiping's Har Mee ~ from Pokok Asam Market. It was incredible !

A spontaneous decision~ Jom! Penang ! Found this carrot noodles cooked in spicy and sour taste. My mum was attracted by the colour and texture of those noodles which made of diff. colours: Green, orange n yellow~ Quite special n edible. Can hv a try of this in 万和饮食中心 (Penang, Pulau Tikus)

Western food at same hawker centre~rate: So-So only... rm 7++

Oyster Omelette.... A must in Penang trip! Gurney Drive's is preferred !

Old New World Park Hawker Centre~ near Continental Bakery. It's a corner restaurant and just beside the Big New World Park Hawker Centre.

Assam Laksa~ When u 1st see this word, I believe that your saliva gland will be activated straight away....In addition with the smell n taste of the Laksa. Sour n spicy enough until causes you feel urge to order for 2nd bowl of this...rm3.50 per bowl.

Penang Rojak~ A mixture of fruits n squid.... The most important point is the unique sticky paste which u cant easily get from any rojak stall around M'sia....

Tee Nya Kuih specially bought n brought out to digest it in the old New World Park hawker centre which situated just next to the new New World Park at Swallow Lane(Jalan Burma). This was my first try. It is distinct as other kuih which is sweet as the time....It tasted sweet n slightly bitter. Better in taste when it served with the sauce that come together with it. 2 bugs only per bowl.

Ice-cream topping ABC (Ice-kacang) with atapchi! Love it! Only at rm 2.50. Feel cool to have this especially in this kinda warm and sunny afternoon in M'sia.

Chee Cheong Fun is another food that need to be try out as well....especially with prawn paste. Around rm2~3.

Chai Kuih (Vege Kuih) ~ not bad but oily...

Lor Bak~a plate of various deep-fried snacks served with chilli sauce and a sticky concoction of soy sauce and egg white. I found that the Tom Yam meat roll is extraordinary compared to the usual meat roll !

Char Koay Teow is a not miss in Penang food trip !

Hainan Chicken Rice ~ one of the famous food in Penang as well !

Mixed Fruits Ice-kacang ~ rm 4.

Before departed back to our house, we stopped by Penang Road where there is a famous Teochew cendol stall which is just situated opposite to a police station. Customers were found to eat their little bowl of cendol by standing beside the little mobile stall. Even the famous Singapore entertainer~ Puah Chu Kang and his wife (Rossy) visited there before.

Rm1.50 per bowl, if not mistaken... Icy, sweet with the Malacca syrup and full of cendol and red beans! Yummy!

Penang is famous with Nutmeg ! My mum bought some of the above raw nutmeg back to make Nutmeg juice. Good for health and nice to drink !

Last but not least, Penang Heong Piah!!! There are a dozen of different Heong Piah companies and factories. Actually, all is almost the same, even the prices are also almost around the reasonable ranges. Depends on individual's taste buds. My family and I preferred Him Heang brand.
